Pedestrian fatally hit by driver on SR-94 in Golden Hill

SAN DIEGO, CA — A man died Sunday evening after being struck by a vehicle on California Highway 94 near San Diego’s Golden Hill neighborhood, reports Times of San Diego.

The fatal incident occurred on the westbound lanes at 28th Street shortly before 10:58 p.m.

Details are limited, but according to the California Highway Patrol, the pedestrian was found in the far left lane.

One witness told authorities they heard a male voice yelling he had been hit moments after the crash.

Despite life-saving measures applied by responding fire crews, the victim later died from his injuries at the scene.

As of this writing, no further updates have been released, and CHP has not confirmed whether or not the driver stopped.
