Pedestrian found deceased after crashes on I-805 in North Park

SAN DIEGO, CA — One person died early Tuesday after being struck by at least one vehicle on Interstate 805 in the North Park area of San Diego, reports ABC10 News.

California Highway Patrol officials said the incident occurred in lane #1 of the northbound interstate near the transit to State Route 14 (Exit 14). It was first reported at around 4:38 a.m.

While a full investigation remains underway, preliminary details indicate a black Chevrolet pickup truck hit the victim’s body in the roadway. Authorities have not confirmed whether the victim was previously hit by another vehicle that fled the scene.

By 4:52 a.m., the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office was called to the scene.

A Sig Alert was enforced in the area shortly after 5:00 a.m., closing part of northbound I-805 at SR-15 for at least the next two hours, creating long delays.
