Pedestrian hit, injured by vehicle on Kettner Blvd in Middletown

SAN DIEGO, CA — A 63-year-old man was hospitalized early Saturday after being struck by a vehicle in San Diego’s Middletown neighborhood, reports FOX 5 San Diego.

The incident occurred in the 3500 block of Kettner Boulevard, in an area east of Columbia College – MCRD San Diego and San Diego International Airport. San Diego Police and first responders arrived on the scene shortly after 1:23 a.m.

According to the the department. the man was crossing the road outside of a marked crosswalk when he stepped into the path of a southbound 2015 Honda CRV and was hit by the car.

The male pedestrian, who suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries, was rushed by ambulance to an area hospital.

The driver of the Honda, a 68-year-old man, remained at the scene after the crash and cooperated with officers.

An investigation by the SDPD’s Traffic Division remains ongoing.
