Pedestrian killed by hit-and-run driver in Vista

VISTA, CA – A pedestrian was fatally struck by a hit-and-run driver in Vista on Friday night, according to the Times of San Diego.

The collision happened near Green Oak Road and Sycamore Avenue at around 9 p.m., when the driver of a light brown Chevrolet Tahoe collided with a male pedestrian. The driver then fled the scene.

Despite the efforts of bystanders to rescue him, the pedestrian was pronounced dead after the crash. He was not immediately identified.

Authorities believe that the suspect vehicle is a 2000-2004 Tahoe with tinted windows. It may also have damage to at least one of the windows and to the front bumper.
