Pedestrian struck, injured by driver in Midway District

SAN DIEGO, CA — A 27-year-old man was injured early Thursday when he was hit by a pickup truck while crossing an intersection in San Diego’s Midway District, reports ABC 10 News.

The incident occurred at the corner of Camino Del Rio West and Hancock Street at around 2:00 a.m.

According to San Diego Police, a 69-year-old man was driving a Ford F-150 pickup truck southbound on Camino Del Rio West when he entered the intersection during a green light.

Authorities said the male pedestrian was hit by the pickup as he crossed the road.

The victim suffered a fractured pelvis and was transported to a local hospital. Officials said they believe his injuries to be non-life-threatening.

No further information has been provided at this time.
