Pedestrian struck, seriously injured by driver in Del Cerro

SAN DIEGO, CA – ABC10 News reports that a pedestrian sustained serious injuries after being struck by a driver in Del Cerro on Saturday night.

The crash was reported shortly after 5:00 p.m. in the 6300 block of Del Cerro Boulevard when a driver of a 2016 BMW I-3 was turning out of the Windmill Farms parking lot and hit a 63-year-old pedestrian. Authorities say the driver initially saw the pedestrian cross in front of his car and waited for him to pass, but turned too soon and ended up hitting him.

The pedestrian was thrown to the sidewalk in the impact and sustained a skull fracture and brain bleed. Names of the driver and pedestrian have not been released at this time.
