Pedestrian struck, seriously injured by hit-and-run driver in Old Town

SAN DIEGO, CA – According to ABC10 News, a female pedestrian was seriously injured after being struck by a hit-and-run driver in Old Town on Sunday.
The crash was reported shortly after 6:00 p.m. near 4000 Harney Street. Authorities say the 29-year-old victim was walking with another woman when the two were approached a 30-year-old male driver of a Ford F350 truck. The driver of the Ford appeared to be picking the women up, but only allowed one woman to get into the vehicle. The second woman, the 29-year-old victim, attempted to get into the truck but the driver kept abruptly accelerating and then stopping the vehicle. The woman fell down into the road, and was run over by the driver of the Ford. The driver sped away from the scene immediately following the incident.
The victim sustained serious, life-threatening injuries, including a large abrasion on her thigh and a laceration on the left side of her head, which severed her temporal artery.
No other details have been released at this time. An investigation is currently ongoing.
