Pedestrian walking dog struck, killed by driver in Poway

POWAY, CA – According to ABC 10 News, a 69-year-old female pedestrian was walking her dog in Poway on Saturday morning when she was struck and killed by a driver.

Authorities say the accident took place around 9:00 a.m. near the intersection of Edgemoor Street and Midland Road when a driver of a Ford Ranger was traveling west on Edgemoor and attempted to make a left turn onto Midland. Mid-turn, the driver struck the pedestrian who was crossing the road at a marked crosswalk. The driver claims that he did not see the woman or her dog on the road when the crash occurred.

The woman sustained serious injuries in the accident and was transported to Palomar Medical Center, where she later died.
