Person killed in rollover crash on CR S2 near Julian

SAN DIEGO COUNTY, CA — One person died Friday afternoon after being pinned in a rollover wreck on County Route S-2 near southeast Julian, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The accident was reported at mile marker 24 (16997 Great Southern Overland Stage Route). Dispatchers first received the call at about 3:36 p.m.

It was unclear what events led up to the wreck, but officials said one vehicle overturned. At 3:39 p.m., the CHP Traffic Incident page showed one person was trapped under the vehicle, and an ambulance had been requested at the scene.

By 4:17 p.m., officials confirmed one person was pronounced deceased.

No other major injuries have been reported as of this writing.
