Pickup hit by lost car part on I-805 in Mission Valley East

SAN DIEGO, CA — Damage was reported Wednesday afternoon after a pickup truck was hit by a car’s sunroof on Interstate 805 in San Diego’s Mission Valley East, reports California Highway Patrol.

The incident occurred on the northbound lanes of I-805 south of I-8 shortly before 1:27 p.m.

Details are limited, but initial reports indicate the part came off a vehicle directly ahead of the pickup.

Both vehicles were able to move to the right hand shoulder away from traffic lanes.

CHP reported no injuries in the event.

It was not immediately clear how the other vehicle came to lose its sunroof.
