Pomona, CA- 2 People Dead And Many Others Injured In A Multi-Vehicle Crash On 10 Freeway

A man and a woman were killed and 3 other people were injured in a chain reaction crash involving a pick up truck on the 10 Freeway near Pomona on Sunday morning, June 30, 2019. A total of 5 vehicles were involved in the crash that occurred around 8:45 am. The crash occurred on the westbound 10 freeway, just west of Via Verde Avenue. The fatal impact was between a 2017 Ford F-550 pick up truck and a 2013 Buick Encore SUV. The driver and passenger of the Buick died from the crash. Another passenger in the Buick suffered injuries, which included a broken hip and ribs. The passenger in the SUV sustained minor injuries. The man driving the Ford pick up truck was driving the vehicle at at 70 to 75 mph when he made an “unsafe lane change” as traffic was slowing ahead of him. The truck sideswiped a Toyota Sienna minivan before crashing into the back of a Buick. The impact pushed the Buick forward into the back of a Nissan truck. The Nissan was then pushed forward into a charter bus. A passenger of the Ford truck sustained minor injuries. The occupants of the minivan, charter bus, and Nissan truck were not injured. The cause of the crash was being investigated.
