Pregnant woman critically injured in Grant Hill collision

SAN DIEGO, CA — A pregnant woman was hospitalized Sunday afternoon after a two-vehicle accident in San Diego’s Grant Hill neighborhood, according to FOX 5 San Diego.

The San Diego Police Department said the crash happened on 28th Street near Imperial Avenue at approximately 4:30 p.m.

A preliminary investigation shows a driver in a 2005 Honda Civic failed to stop at a red light and broadsided a 2006 Chevy 1500 pickup truck at the intersection.

Authorities said the 18-year-old woman, who was a passenger in the Honda, became unconscious in the crash and has “not regain[ed] consciousness.” She was rushed to a nearby hospital where the extent of her injuries is still being determined. She remains on life support.

Both drivers sustained less serious injuries, including chest and shoulder pain, and were also taken to the hospital.
