Rollover crash involving parked cars kills driver in Mission Point

SAN DIEGO, CA — One person died last Friday afternoon, September 9,  after a major rollover wreck in San Diego’s Mission Point, according to ABC10 News.

San Diego Police said the fatal accident occurred on the 2600 block of Mission Boulevard at around 1:40 p.m.

An early investigation found that the victim was driving a Ford van eastbound, at a high rate of speed, when the vehicle struck a curb. After going airborne, the van landed in a parking lot, where it overturned and struck at least two other vehicles.

The driver and sole occupant of the striking vehicle was pronounced deceased at the scene, confirmed officials. Though the SDPD has not released identifying details, the decedent is believed to be a man.

Mission Point was closed off for an extended time as crews responded to the scene, blocking several dozen members of the public from accessing their parked cars.
