Suspected DUI driver crashes into Chula Vista sports bar

SAN DIEGO COUNTY, CA — Three people were injured Wednesday night after a woman suspected of DUI crashed into a car and then into a sports bar in Chula Vista, according to NBC San Diego.

The incident began at the intersection of Broadway and G Street at approximately 8:20 p.m.

The woman was heading southbound on Broadway when she ran a red light at the intersection and struck another vehicle. She then veered into the side of The Manhattan bar off Broadway.

Two occupants inside the bar sustained minor injuries.

The driver of the other involved vehicle was transported to a nearby hospital with minor injuries.

Chula Vista police said the suspected DUI driver was arrested at the scene. It is unclear whether or not she was injured.

Property damage to the building included a hole in one wall and temporary loss of power and gas. Police said an inspector will be conducting a full evaluation.
