Teen pedestrian hit, critically hurt by driver in San Marcos

SAN DIEGO COUNTY, CA — A 19-year-old man was hospitalized late Wednesday morning after being struck by a vehicle in the Richland area of San Marcos, according to Times of San Diego.

Deputies with the San Diego Sheriff’s Department responded to the scene in the 600 block of Woodward Street shortly after 11:00 a.m.

A preliminary investigation indicates a 23-year-old woman was behind the wheel of a vehicle going northbound on Woodward when the teen entered the road and was hit.

The victim suffered severe injuries and was rushed to a local hospital in critical condition.

Authorities said the driver, who was not hurt in the crash, was not suspected of impairment.

No further information has been disclosed at this time.
