Two injured after SUV hits disabled car on I-5 in South Bay

SAN DIEGO, CA – Two people received treatment after their SUV struck a stalled hatchback in the middle of I-5 in the South Bay area late on Saturday night.

According to Fox News San Diego, the silver Toyota Prius had become disabled in a middle lane of southbound I-5 near Mile of Cars Way at about 11:30 p.m. The driver of the small car, a woman, was about to get out of her vehicle and make it safely to the shoulder before a Ford Explorer slammed into the Toyota. The Ford then overturned from the collision.

A man and a woman were able to exit the Ford and received treatment from paramedics at the scene. They were both transported to an area hospital with minor injuries but ultimately not admitted.

There is no word on why the Toyota became disabled.
