Two-vehicle crash reported on I-5 SB near Chula Vista

SAN DIEGO COUNTY, CA — A two-vehicle collision was reported Tuesday afternoon on Interstate 5 near Chula Vista’s Castle Park area, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The accident took place on southbound lanes at Bay Boulevard and L Street. It was first reported by the CHP at 3:15 p.m.

The circumstances behind the wreck were not immediately clear, but a white Toyota Camry and a white Nissan Sentra were involved.

Officials said the Toyota Camry came to rest in the center divider while the Nissan Sentra came to a stop on the right shoulder.

The party in the Toyota was said to have declined tow services at the scene, suggesting minor to moderate vehicle damage.

No injuries have been confirmed at this time.
