Update: 42-year-old man killed in crash on I-15 in Bonsall

SAN DIEGO, CA – A 42-year-old man is dead after plowing his car into the back of a tractor-trailer on Interstate 15 in Bonsall on Thursday morning.

According to the Times of San Diego, the Baldwin Park resident has was speeding past cars in this red 2021 Dodge Charger as he headed south on I-15. He changed lanes into the truck near Lilac Road at about 9 a.m., wedging his sportscar underneath the larger vehicle.

The driver of the truck pulled to the side of the road, believing that he had blown a tire. Only when he exited his truck did he realized he had been hit.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is expected to be released after authorities can reach out to his family.

No one else was injured.

The truck, who had been driving a big rig for many years, reported that this was the first time he’d been in an accident.
