UPDATE: Authorities ID woman fatally injured in Mission Bay crash

SAN DIEGO, CA — A 39-year-old woman has been identified after a crash Thursday morning in San Diego’s Mission Bay area that fatally injured her and a 34-year-old man, reports ABC10 News.

The accident occurred on West Mission Bay Drive near Quivira Road, just before 9:00 a.m.

San Diego Police said the victim, Donna Munoz, of Los Angeles, was in the front passenger seat of a Toyota Prius. At one point, a 34-year-old man on a Honda CBR600RR sport motorcycle tried to pass the car on the right side at the same time the Prius driver started to make a right turn. The motorcycle then hit the Prius, killing the male rider at the scene. Officials have not publicly identified him.

Munoz was rushed to Scripps Mercy Hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries.

Another woman in the Prius suffered minor injuries, but it was unclear whether she had to be taken to a hospital. The driver of the Prius, a 42-year-old man, and two juvenile passengers were uninjured.

At this time, no charges have been reported.
