UPDATE: Santee woman charged in connection to fatal DUI motorcycle accident

EL CAJON, CA – A woman from  Santee is facing charges of gross vehicular manslaughter following a suspected DUI accident that took the life of a motorcyclist Monday morning.

According to East County Magazine, 59-year-old Pamela Gilmore was traveling northbound on Plumeria Drive shortly after 7 a.m. when she attempted to turn onto Pepper Drive and struck a 32-year-old man riding his 2005 Suzuki GSXR 100.

The motorcyclist was ejected as a result of the crash and sustained serious injuries. He was transported to a local hospital where he died a short time later.

Gilmore sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene. Her 83-year-old passenger was uninjured.

Upon further investigation, troopers with the CHP determined Gilmore was under the influence of drugs and alcohol at the time of the accident. She was arrested and booked into Las Colinas Women’s Detention Facility.

The name of the motorcyclist is being withheld at this time.
