SAN DIEGO COUNTY, CA — A 70-year-old woman has died nearly two weeks after a two-vehicle crash earlier this month in El Cajon, according to FOX 5 San Diego.
The accident happened at the intersection of Soldin Lane and Olde Highway 80th on Wednesday, May 3, shortly after 1:00 p.m.
The San Diego Department of the Medical Examiner said the woman was behind the wheel of an Infiniti sedan heading northbound on Soldin Lane. At one point, the car collided with a vehicle traveling westbound on Olde Highway 80th.
Local police arrived to find the victim, identified as Marilynn Asch, seriously hurt and unresponsive. She was rushed to an area hospital for surgery, but officials said her condition steadily declined during her hospital stay. On May 16 at about 1:00 a.m., medical staff pronounced the victim deceased. The Medical Examiner has since listed her cause of death as “blunt force injury.”
No information on the other driver has been disclosed, and no charges have been reported.
