Woman hospitalized after scooter crash in downtown San Diego

SAN DIEGO, CA — A 35-year-old woman was left seriously injured early Friday after a scooter accident in downtown San Diego, according to ABC 10 News.

The accident happened in the area of Union Street and West Broadway. It was first reported by ABC 10 at 7:41 a.m.

According to San Diego Police, woman was riding a scooter southbound on Union Street when her scooter collided with a raised curb at the intersection with West Broadway. The impact of the crash caused her to fall off the scooter.

The victim was transported to a local hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, including a skull fracture and cuts to her face.

No other updates have been released at this time, but police said alcohol contributed to the incident.
