Woman severely injured in crash with SUV in Core-Columbia area

SAN DIEGO, CA – A woman was severely injured in a collision with an SUV after she allegedly ran a red light in the Core-Columbia area early yesterday morning, according to the Times of San Diego.
The crash happened at 11th Avenue and Broadway at around 3:40 a.m., when the 30-year-old driver of a red 2008 Mazda 6 headed westbound failed to stop at a red light. She then crashed into a white 2016 Cadillac Escalade SUV headed northbound.
The driver of the Mazda was taken to the hospital with severe, but non-life-threatening injuries.
The second driver, a 42-year-old man, was not hurt in the collision.
Police do not believe intoxication was a factor in the collision, and their investigation continues at this time.
