Cyclist hit, killed by driver at Escondido intersection

SAN DIEGO COUNTY, CA — A man died Thursday morning after being struck by a vehicle while riding a bicycle across an intersection in central Escondido, according to ABC 10 News.

Escondido Police responded to the scene at North Broadway and El Norte Parkway, shortly after 10:30 a.m.

The circumstances behind the incident remain unclear at this time, but authorities confirmed the male cyclist died from his injuries at the scene.

Authorities did not say whether the driver remained at the site, but no other injuries were reported.

At this time, no pending charges or citations have been reported.
