Publish Date: 2021/12/28

SAN DIEGO COUNTY, CA — Four people died Monday evening after a plane crashed in a neighborhood in the unincorporated area of Bostonia, according to CBS Los Angeles.

The incident occurred in the 1200 block of Pepper Drive near the North Mollison Avenue intersection shortly before 7:15 p.m.

Authorities said a plane that departed from Santa Ana’s John Wayne Airport was scheduled to land at Gillespie Field airport but crashed a few miles west.

All four of the plane’s occupants were pronounced deceased at the scene.

The crash damaged one home, but no other injuries were reported.

A fire that started up after the crash was extinguished by crews shortly before 9:00 p.m.

350 SDG&E customers were also left without power after the plane took down an unconfirmed number of power lines. Crews remained on standby as of midday Monday for clearance to attend to the area.

An investigation by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) was underway.
