Injuries reported after motorcycle crash on I-5 SB in downtown San Diego

SAN DIEGO, CA — Medics were called to a motorcycle accident Tuesday afternoon on Interstate 5 in downtown San Diego, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The wreck was reported on the southbound lanes of I-5 past West Grape Street, in the Harborview area. Dispatchers first received the call at around 2:46 p.m.

Officials have not specified what led up to the crash, but a motorcycle and another vehicle were involved. A number of passersby were able to assist move the rider and the motorcycle to the center divider and away from traffic.

The CHP Traffic Incident Information Page indicates minor injuries were reported. At least one ambulance and tow services were requested at the scene.
