Man fatally struck by car while walking bike in Fallbrook

SAN DIEGO COUNTY, CA — A 62-year-old man died Sunday night after being hit by a car while walking his bike along a Fallbrook road, reports FOX 5 San Diego.

California Highway Patrol said the collision occurred on the right side of Ammunition Road at around 9:00 p.m.

The man was walking along his bike when a Hyundai Sonata collided with him.

Authorities confirmed the victim died at the scene.

The driver, a 25-year-old man, remained at the scene and was not suspected of impairment.

All westbound lanes of Ammunition Road were closed to traffic for nearly two hours following the accident.

CHP said the cause of the crash was under investigation.
