Pedestrian critically hurt after SUV crash in Tierrasanta

SAN DIEGO, CA — An 82-year-old woman was hospitalized Wednesday evening after being struck by an SUV in San Diego’s Tierrasanta area, reports The San Diego Union-Tribune.

The accident happened on Montego Driver near La Cuenta Drive at around 6:20 p.m.

San Diego police said the victim was crossing the street when she was struck by a westbound 2014 Mazda CX-5 SUV driven by a 76-year-old woman.

The victim was transported to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries, including fractures to both leg bones beneath the knee in one leg.

The accident remains under investigation by the San Diego Police Department’s traffic division.
