Two flee crash site during rescue efforts in Paradise Hills

SAN DIEGO, CA — Two men fled the scene of a crash early Sunday in San Diego’s Paradise Hills neighborhood after revealing a gun to first responders, reports Times of San Diego.

Authorities said a Nissan Sentra crashed into fencing along Tonawanda Drive at about 6:00 a.m., as the vehicle failed to turn from Reo Drive.

A witness attempted to help the two male occupants, but the victims were said to have been hostile.

One of the men was later approached by firefighters who were trying to render aid, but crews backed away when he was showed himself to be armed with a handgun.

The two suspects were last seen fleeing up Reo Drive. Authorities said an open alcohol container was observed inside the abandoned Sentra, which was not found to have been stolen.
