Two hurt after car crashes into two yards in south San Diego

SAN DIEGO, CA — Two people were injured Tuesday morning after a two-car collision sent one car into the yards of Otay Mesa West residents in south San Diego, according to onscene.tv.

The incident took place on Del Sol Boulevard near Twining Avenue and Marcwade Drive and was first reported by onscene.tv at 8:35 a.m.

A woman was at the wheel of a Hyundai going westbound on Del Sol Boulevard when she failed to yield to an eastbound sedan, causing both vehicles to collide. The impact of the crash sent the Hyundai off the roadway and into a stop sign before crashing through the fencing of one yard. There, the Hyundai struck a tree that caused the car to crash through the fencing of a second yard.

Bystanders assisted the older woman driver and her granddaughter out of the wrecked car.

The male driver of the other vehicle was transported to Mercy Hospital with a dislocated shoulder.

The woman’s young granddaughter was taken to Rady Childrens Hospital for an evaluation.

No other injuries were reported.
