UPDATE: Authorities ID motorcyclist killed in Coronado crash while fleeing police

SAN DIEGO COUNTY, CA — A 22-year-old man has been identified as the motorcyclist who died after a crash last Wednesday morning, July 12, in Coronado, reports ABC10 News.

The fatal accident happened on a stretch of northbound Silver Strand Boulevard (SR-75) near Coronado Cays Boulevard, at about 7:00 a.m.

According to the Coronado Police Department, the victim was operating a motorcycle at a high rate of speed and refused to stop for officers who tried to pull him over. While fleeing, the victim collided with a car at high speed and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

No other major injuries were reported in the crash.

On Monday, July 17th, the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victim as Brenden Andrew King. His death was determined to have been the result of multiple blunt force injuries sustained in the crash with the vehicle.
